In the morning, I visited <a href=\"https:\/\/www.killeenisd.org\/schoolsV2\/index.cfm?navBarID=1495\" target=\"_blank\">Oveta Culp Hobby Elementary<\/a> &#8211; home of the Patriots. And you know what? The Patriots were my elementary school&#8217;s mascot in Brownsville, TX &#8212; the Russel Patriots!<br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.killeenisd.org\/schoolsV2\/index.cfm?navBarID=1495\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/michaelanthonysteele.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/DSCN2784.jpg\" alt=\"DSCN2784\" width=\"500\" height=\"316\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1812\" srcset=\"https:\/\/michaelanthonysteele.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/DSCN2784.jpg 500w, https:\/\/michaelanthonysteele.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/DSCN2784-300x189.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n&nbsp;<br \/>\nAfter Mrs. Coffield picked me up at the base&#8217;s visitor center, I set up and performed two shows in her huge library; the kids were packed all the way to the back.  Now, during every show, I asked the students how many of them enjoy writing their own stories. I know that not everyone wants to be a writer when they grow up but I was pleasantly surprised just how many kids raised their hands at this school. I think it was the most I&#8217;ve seen so far.
