I was their visiting author for the \u201cWe Are Writers\u201d event in celebration of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.readacrossamerica.org\" target=\"_blank\">Read Across America Day<\/a>\u2014which just so happens to be Dr. Seuss\u2019s birthday! During the day, all the students were rotated to other events including the Storybook Players and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestorytimechicks.com\" target=\"_blank\">Miss Anastasia<\/a>. And after each of my three shows, Mrs. Mason had another surprise where lucky winners won copies of my books! I signed a bunch of books and even Nia\u2019s leg cast.
