Today I returned to Vandergriff Elementary to perform another show for some more Grizzlies AND hold a writing workshop for the entire 3rd grade!

I also got to meet (and sign a book for) Assistant Principal for the day, Hunter!

Returning to Vandergriff two days later was great for me. I already knew where to hook into the equipment, the location of the nearest restroom—you know…important stuff. It was also good for Lauren (who was absent during my previous visit). And it gave many 3rd graders a chance to hand-deliver several thank you letters to me. Nice!

Thanks again to Mrs. Tate and the Vandergriff PTO for having me out. And a big thanks to all Vandergriff Grizzlies. Your double feature school visit was a fun way to end my latest trip to Arkansas!

I spent a fun day at Happy Hollow Elementary—home of the Hawks! I performed a whopping four presentations to great crowds all around. We had Mrs. Troutt’s usual quiet library roaring with excitement (sorry, Mrs. T). There were so many young writers in all the grades, I couldn’t believe it. I had many of them come up to me after each show telling me about their various writing projects—way cool!

Thanks to Mrs. Troutt and the Happy Hollow PTO for having me out. Thanks to Mrs. Luper for the photos. Thanks again to Mrs. Luper and to Coach West, Mr. Mark, Ms. Donahue, and Mrs. Smith for all the help during the presentations. And a big thanks to all the HH Hawks for the exciting day. Keep reading (quietly in the library—I can’t be there every day to rattle the windows with you) and keep writing those stories!

Today I was in Fayetteville, Arkansas where I spent the first of two days at Vandergriff Elementary—home of the Grizzlies! I gave four shows in the library and I really heard those Grizzlies roar (of course they were doing dragon roars but I’m guessing it sounds similar). Either way, everyone seemed to have a good time!

I was swamped with many questions during and after each show. I had even more questions waiting for me when I returned to the hotel (isn’t that right, Corbin, Charles, Sarah, and Hadley?). These Grizzlies really like to learn!

Thanks to Mrs. Tate and the Vandergriff PTO for having me out. Thanks to Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Tate for all the help and the fun lunch. And a big thanks to all the Grizzlies themselves. I’ll be back with you on Friday after a side trip to Happy Hollow Elementary!

My last stop in Pennsylvania was at Evans Elementary in Limerick, PA! I had another fun day with three big shows in front of three great crowds all around. And I learned that Evans was chocked full of young writers!

As long as they don’t forget those four words I talked about.

Thanks to Mrs. Havrilla and the Home and School Association for inviting me. Thanks to Mr. Raber for all the help and the fun superhero and super villain conversations. Thanks to Mr. Wesley for help setting up. And a big thanks to all the young writers and future screenwriters at Evans Elementary. You were quite the grand finale for my return trip to Pennsylvania!

There was a lot going on at Upper Providence Elementary today. Artist Kevin Reese was there all day, creating an artistic mobile with a bunch of the students. The school was gearing up for the big Scholastic book fair that night. And they also had…me!

I gave three back-to-back shows to tons of future authors and screenwriters who were full of great questions (a couple I’ve never had before). After that, I had to clear out quickly since the parent volunteers swooped in to set up for the book fair!

Thanks to Mrs. Pflugler for having me out (and for putting her photography skills to great use). Thanks to Mr. George for help setting up. And thanks to all the great kids at UPE! Keep writing, get plenty of books at the book fair, and I hope you get to check out some of my signed books—now available in your school library!

Today I enjoyed a fun day at Oaks Elementary in Oaks, PA! After being welcomed by a cool banner, I performed three shows and signed a bunch of books.

It wasn’t just a big day for me. Along with my presentations, the first graders got to go on a field trip to watch a play (note them in the matching yellow shirts). That’s two shows in one day for those kids!

I even enjoyed a photo op with many of the PTA kids. Great meeting you, everyone!

Thanks to Mrs. Rittenhouse and the Oaks PTA for having me out. And a big thanks to all the great kids at Oaks Elementary. I hope you had as much fun today as I did!

Today I began my four day tour of the Royserford area, PA at none other than Royersford Elementary itself. Everyone I met was wonderful (students and staff alike) and I performed three shows, answering tons of great questions!

I even enjoyed visiting a couple of classrooms between shows. I had a great time getting to know Mrs. Novia and Mrs. Long’s classes!

Thanks to Mrs. Kehl and Mrs. Pogwist for having me out. Thanks to Mrs. Pogwist for all the help and to Mrs. Kehl for all the prep. Thanks to Mrs. Hefferman for helping with the tech support. Thanks again to Mrs. Long and Mrs. Novia for letting me invade your classes. And thanks to all the great kids at RES! You made for a memorable return to Pennsylvania!
