School & Library Visits

“Teachers are saying you were one of the best authors they have had come visit our school. I have had several students and parents come up to me or email me that their kids came home yesterday and started writing their own books or scripts! All grade levels of teachers have commented on how well you kept the student’s attention. Thank you so much!!!”

- Erin Figert, Virginia Reinhardt Elementary

Between writing projects, I’m thrilled to give presentations to schools and libraries across the country! Having been fortunate enough to write for so many famous brands, I’ve found that the children are fans of many of those characters and enjoy meeting the guy who writes some of those books and videos. Because of this built-in familiarity, the students require almost no prep time for my visit!

My current show not only describes what it’s like to be an author and screenwriter but also explores the exciting journey of how I got here—from being a professional photographer to blowing stuff up as a Special Effects Technician for film and television. My appearances have been described as the “rock-n-roll author visit” since I come with an animated presentation, humor, flashy audio/visual elements, loads of energy, and a guitar!

Most importantly, the main theme of my show is how the kids can say, “I Can Do That!” and be anything they want to be—just like I did! I even explain how I was in elementary school when I was first inspired to become a writer and they too can get inspired right now! It’s just that simple and exciting!

I’m available to present in front of groups of any size but I also enjoy leading workshops for smaller groups of kids who are interested in writing — even screenwriting!

Contact me at: ant@masteele.com for my availability and fee. Whenever possible, I’m happy to schedule multi-day performances where schools can split days and pool resources.

“All of our students talked for a week about Mr. Steele and the teachers who were able to come to the presentation all had great things to say as well. I enjoyed the presentation and was very impressed by the manner in which he encouraged our students to read, write and try what might seem impossible. They do remember the four little words, I can do that!
- Robin McMahan, Librarian/Webmaster, Heather Glen Elementary
